DC Central Kitchen’s Capital Food Fight, traditionally one of November’s hottest tickets, takes place November 11 beginning at 6 PM at the Ronald Reagan Building.
For the event’s 10th year, celebrity chefs José Andrés and Carla Hall serve as hosts for the fundraiser that pits chef against chef in a series of on-stage culinary battles. This year, Top Chef’s Tom Colicchio, Frontera Grill’s Rick Bayless, Olives’ Todd English and Art & Soul’s Art Smith will judge four talented local chefs who will square off for a good cause: Erik Bruner-Yang of Toki Underground, Bertrand Chemel of 2941, Spike Gjerde of Woodberry Kitchen and Anthony Lombardo of 1789 Restaurant.
While the battle rages, attendees can circulate throughout the space, tasting samples from 75 local restaurants, including Barmini, Blue Duck Tavern, Jaleo, Kaz Sushi Bistro, Le Diplomate, Ris, The Source and Vermilion.
Over the years, the event has raised more than $2 million for DC Central Kitchen, which helps unemployed DC residents begin culinary careers as well as feeding healthy meals to community members in need.
Tickets for the event cost $250 and are available online here.
