Hungry tourists looking for a stunning view of Lower Manhattan no longer have to settle for a bite of Grimaldi's on the DUMBO docks. The River Cafe, which closed for full service dining in October 2012 due to the effects of Hurricane Sandy, will take lunch, brunch and dinner reservations starting this Sunday, according to our source. The waterside restaurant, which recently hosted a New Year's Day brunch, already opened its Terrace Room for private functions, but the remainder of the property will be open to the public beginning February 1. We're glad to see the classic Brooklyn restaurant back on its feet - not only because of its resiliency - but because it gives us another romantic option for Valentine's Day.
