State Park adds lunch hours. If you still haven't visited State Park, the Southern-inspired restaurant where you'll find one of the Best Things We Ate This Year (So Far), you have a few more daily hours to sink your teeth into a bowl of BBQ spaghetti. This week State Park announced that it has added lunch hours on Tuesdays through Fridays. Doors will open at 11:30 AM and the kitchen will stay continuously open until midnight. (Mondays remain dinner hours-only.) The full, existing menu will be served so refresh your memory with our earlier look at what to eat and drink there.
Anna's Taqueria adds nachos. Just a quick public service announcement: fondly fawned-over local chain Anna's Taqueria has added made-to-order to nachos (pictured) to its menu. The popular brand has wisely employed a ain't-broke-don't-fix-it consistency to its menu, so the nachos are the first new item to be added in several years. The chips are topped with melted cheese and any array of toppings: carnitas, black beans, jalapenos and more.
Brasserie JO adds region-hopping specials. In honor of the Tour de France, Brasserie JO launches this month a weekly-changing array of special menu items that reflect the region through which the pro bikers are cycling. Through tonight, that includes offerings inspired by Nord-Pas de Calais: Belgian-inflected grilled shrimp (the region borders that country) and mussels with beer. From July 10-14, attention will turn to Lorraine and Champagne, with quiche Lorraine and a plum tart. Comte, Roussillon, and Dordogne are some of the other regions providing inspiration until the country-wide culinary ride wraps up in Paris on July 27.
Local spots among "America's 100 Best Wine Restaurants." The just-released August issue of Wine Enthusiast includes an annual list of "America's 100 Best Wine Restaurants," and three local restaurants made the lineup: Troquet, The Blue Room, and Craigie on Main. We can't say that list one came as much of a surprise; wine director Emily Larkins was in our most recent class of 30 Under 30 honorees.
