Umami Burger has been in the Bay Area for a little over two years, but the Southern California company is marking five years in business this week. Specifically, the chain will offer $5 Original Burgers - a normally $12 beef patty topped with shiitake mushrooms, caramelized onions, roasted tomato, parmesan crisp and umami ketchup - at all locations (including Oakland, Palo Alto and two in San Francisco) all day tomorrow (February 5). It's guaranteed be the best $5 hamburger in the Bay Area this week. And as a bonus, if you order another full-price burger, such as the new limited Michael Voltaggio Monte Cristo Burger (with gruyere fondue and prosciutto on a custard-soaked and fried bun) you'll get a $5 gift card to put toward another meal at Umami.
