Where to Brunch This Weekend: Blue Smoke

Danny Meyer's 13-year old eatery finally gets into the brunch game

For the first time ever, Danny Meyer's Blue Smoke will begin serving brunch this weekend at the Battery Park location, with Flatiron to follow. Louisiana native chef Jean-Paul Bourgeois recently took the helm in the kitchen at the once barbecue-focused eatery and has transformed the menu into one that celebrates all things Southern, which naturally means brunch is a must. The menu features items like shrimp and grits, a burnt ends brisket sandwich with scrambled eggs, a biscuit sandwich (pictured above), breakfast burrito and pit-cooked BBQ like spare ribs and pulled pork. Pastries like beignets, biscuits and doughnuts are brought to you by Union Square Cafe alum Emily Isaac. Drink options include NOLA-inspired cocktails, fresh squeezed juice blends and craft coffee.
