“Always have brunch.” That’s the New Year’s resolution at Chestnut Hill’s Mica, and to help it come true for all of us, the Chip Roman’s restaurant has added Saturdays to its relatively new Sunday brunch lineup.
From 11 AM-2 PM on either weekend day, you can step past the stonewall exterior into the elegantly trim dining room and enjoy a selection of starters, egg dishes and entrees. The frittata shown above is made with locally foraged mushrooms and eggs from Maple Acre Farms, and the same eggs show up in a scramble with housemade country sausage and thyme potatoes.
Entrees range from buttermilk pancakes with berry compote to spaghetti carbonara, and there’s also a whole list of brunch desserts, such as maple custard with toasted oats and donuts with passion fruit and Greek yogurt. Everything is $14 and under, and mimosas and Bloodies go for $9 each. Always have brunch. Sounds good to us (267-335-3912).
