Variety seems to be what's up this week as Atlanta prepares for the booziness of the coming St. Patrick's Day weekend. Tomorrow night, three local spots are spotlighting the opportunity to experience a variety of tastes.
Sniff: Restaurant Eugene's popular but dormant cheese-tasting series "Cheese Eugene" is back for 2014. On the second Tuesday of the month - that means it's Tuesday, March 11 - the South Buckhead restaurant will feature five cheeses and five wine tastings, in two seatings ($35; 6:30 or 8 PM; 404-355-0321).
Taste: On Tuesday, March 11, Watershed on Peachtree hosts its monthly “20 for $20” tasting of wines from around the world. As the name implies, attendance costs $20 per person, and 20 wines from across the globe comprise the lineup of samples. Snacks and passed small bites prepared by chef Joe Truex are included. Sample: Buckhead's Fadó Irish Pub (pictured above) brings together sliders and sips in a Tuesday, March 11, event called "Craft Fare." Admission includes a sampling of the restaurant's signature gourmet mini-burgers and multiple craft beers, including limited-edition SweetWater Brewing cask ales and bomber bottles, for the first hour of the event, and then special pricing on all products featured during the sampling for the final hour ($25; 7:30-9:30 PM; 404-841-0066).
