Our Burger Survey only looked at Atlanta's top beef burgers. If that weren't the case, however, the pork burger at Americana-drenched Palookaville would've charted for sure.

It was the only non-beef burger to receive write-in votes. "Our burger is ground fresh in Avondale and is a regionally sourced, hormone-free pork mix," says Pallookaville. And thanks to that unique mix of pork, local bacon from Pine Street Market and a secret spice blend, it got plenty of accolades from the burger-loving public.

"Juicy, porky, deliciousness. Insanely good," said one survey taker, while another added, "It tastes like a bacon cheeseburger, but the bacon taste is in the burger."

Pallookaville aims to show that what's normally considered trashy fast food — corndogs, hot dogs, etc. — can be made with high-quality ingredients. The buns are locally made, and Pallookaville's pork burger comes dressed with grilled onions, tomato and lettuce.

The accolades were universal. "This is an awesome burger. Juicy and flavorful … best burger I have had," said one voter, while another raved, "[A] burger with a great twist! Juicy even cooked through… it takes burger to the next level."

Of course, the playful restaurant's decor also influences how much pleasure you might take out of this burger — it's loaded with kitschy artwork conjuring thoughts of classic American delis, drive-thrus, soda fountains and toy shops. As another survey respondent says: "The setting of Pallookaville helps! Happiest place on Earth!"
