Today the Austin Food & Wine Alliance, the force behind the Austin Food & Wine Festival, announced that it will be giving out $25,000 in grants to support chefs; farmers; wine, beer and spirit makers; artisan producers; and food-focused nonprofits. The AFWA started the program last year, and the first grants were given to Argus Cidery, Tecolote Farm and the Connally High School Culinary Arts Program.

This year the grant money has only increased, which is great for the Austin culinary community. The application process is open September 9 through midnight on October11, and hopefuls can apply online here.
