Bartenders and spirits experts will gather in San Antonio this weekend for events like a movie screening of Hey Bartender and a cocktail competition, all to benefit HeartGift San Antonio and ChildSafe (prices vary, locations vary, consult schedule).
Sampling Party at Vinyl and Upstairs
Check out the new wine bar and small plates place with a 13,000-piece vinyl collection and secret entrance at the all-weekend party with complimentary tastings, drink specials and special guest DJs (all weekend, 607 Trinity St., above Chicago House).
Buzz Mill Anniversary Party
The Buzz Mill coffee shop is turning one year old, and they’re celebrating with a pig roast and drink specials (6 PM, 1505 Town Creek Dr.).
Family Meal Benefit for Uchiko Server
Last summer an Uchiko server, Leah Ortiz, was in a devastating motorcycle accident, leaving her and her boyfriend in $140,000 of debt. This Sunday the restaurant community is coming together for a benefit toward Ortiz’s medical bills. The family-style dinner features restaurants Uchiko, Uchi, Barley Swine, Congress, Second Bar + Kitchen and Swift’s Attic ($50, $30 for service industry with payroll stub, 7 PM, Swift’s Attic, 315 Congress Ave.).
Butchers, Brewers and Bartenders at Whislers
The craft cocktail bar will host Salt and Time for small bites and 512 Brewery for beer, including their Cascabel Cream Stout, as part of their weekly Sunday service industry happy hour (6 PM, 1816 E. Sixth St.) .
Downton Abbey Viewing Party and Happy Hour at Goodall’s
Head to the refined new restaurant to watch Season 4 of the beloved PBS series. Goodall’s is hosting a viewing party as well as a happy hour with special prices on signature cocktails, wines by the glass, beer on tap and 50 percent off select bar menu items.
