Seasonal fare has its pros and cons. On the cons side, it's excruciatingly hard to wait until the fall to devour sweet potatoes at the height of their seasonality. But lucky for us, Tacodeli has managed to utilize the bright spuds all year round on its well-rounded menu. The most delicious meal we ate this weekend, The Papadulce Taco, is a dish that surprises even the most devoted of carnivores.
Brought to life by a heap of diced, over-roasted sweet potatoes, grilled corn, warm roasted peppers, caramelized onions, crunchy pepita seeds and a housemade chipotle camote sauce, this vegetarian taco totes an abundance of flavor in a small package. Perhaps it's the variety of textures or the range of flavor notes, but whatever it is, we're absolutely in love with it.
The local taco shop boasts its share of handheld treats woven together by a smorgasbord of proteins and toppings, like savory rubbed beef tenderloin, succulent pork shoulder, hefty Gulf Coast shrimp, fragrant, flavorful adobo sauce, rainbows of cheeses and more.
