Chef Shawn Cirkiel to Open Restaurant in the RadissonBy Megan Giller | October 29, 2013 By Megan Giller | October 29, 2013
Rumors have been flying about the Parkside, Backspace and Olive & June chef and owner’s plans for a possible restaurant in the Radisson, and today Cirkiel confirms those suspicions. The currently unnamed restaurant will be part of the downtown Radisson hotel in the former TGI Fridays space. Famed restaurant architect Michael Hsu is on the job to transform the space, and Cirkiel is creating a menu of contemporary Southwestern cuisine, with entrees and shareable plates like homemade tamales, tortas and lamb en mole. Cirkiel will also be providing food service for the hotel, including room service, banquets and events. That’s quite a jump up from his previous restaurant experience, and we’re eager to see how it goes. The restaurant is slated to open in January 2014, so we won’t have to wait long to find out.
