Where to Brunch: South Congress CaféBy Megan Giller | February 7, 2014 By Megan Giller | February 7, 2014
You haven’t lived until you’ve indulged in the epic carrot cake French toast at the South Congress Café. The brunch staple is hardly a secret in this town, and it has the long waits to prove it. So how to handle that hour-long anticipation? We advise an infused Bloody Mary or two (Tito’s infused with veggies, garlic and jalapeños and spicy mix) or a cucumber-pear grown-up lemonade (Grey Goose, St. Germain, muddled cucumbers, lemons and fresh-squeezed lemonade). By the time you sit down for your crab cakes eggs Benedict with chipotle horseradish, short-rib corned beef hash or migas with a side of carrot cake French toast, you’ll be feeling pretty good.
The best part about brunch at this bistro? It lasts all week, which means you’ll never be without a hearty meal to get you through the day.
