Monday. Weather-wise the week is off to a solid start. So get some fresh air (and fresh sushi) tonight at Moksa. The Central Square Pan-Asian is celebrating the opening of its patio with an Outdoor BBQ Bash from 5-8 PM. Expect Eastern-inspired sliders, kebobs, tacos and dumplings for a light price of $5 each, plus an all-you-can-eat sushi menu (from spicy tuna to Maimo with sweet potato tempura) for $15 per person. Moksa mixologist Noon Summers serve some BBQ-appropriate libations like tequila-based "spiked snow cones" ($8) in pineapple and coconut.
Tuesday. Feel like you need to earn those delicious burger-based calories? This month 5 Napkin Burger launches a "Running Club" that will meet at the Back Bay locations on the first and third Tuesday (that includes May 20) of each month. Burger and fitness lovers will meet at 5:45 PM for a 6 PM jog lasting 30-45 minutes; a good way to a workout in before trying the new naan burger, available only this month. For another fun burger outing, race over to Tavern Road on Tuesday, when from 10 PM-2 AM the Fort Point spot will host the second installment of Super Burger Bros, a pop-up from chefs Sam Monsour and Richard Chudy. Among this outing's creative takes is a breakfast burger with porchetta, egg, gruyere and rosemary butter on an English muffin. (Get more details on the Super Burger Bros. concept here.)
Wednesday. On Wednesday, May 21, New York's Brewery Ommegang brings its annual HopChef Competition to the Cyclorama at the Boston Center for the Arts. From 7-10 PM, a lineup of local toques from spots like Coda, Teatro, Foundry on Elm and Franklin Cafe will turn out creative Ommegang beer and food pairings; a panel of judges will determine which victor gets a slew of related press opps and a showcase station with Brewery Ommegang at the StarChefs International Chef's Congress and SAVEUR Summer BBQ, both in NYC. (There's also a People's Choice Award, so get eating, drinking and voting.) Tickets are $65 each and include two free Uber rides for the night, so you can imbibe without restraint. Get them here.
Thursday. This Thursday, May 22, BELLY Wine Bar, The Blue Room, and Central Bottle team up for their first collaboration: Txakoli Fest, celebrating the sparkling Basque country wine with a patio party from 6-10 PM. Sip five different varieties of while digging in to a feast of pig, octopus, sardines and more. Pre-sales are ever, so show up early to grab the limited door tickets: $60 each.
