BCAE Announces Star Chef Lineup

Ring the dinner bell, and the school bell while you're at it. The Boston Center for Adult Education (BCAE) just announced its fall lineup of popular chef-led cooking classes, and it's an A+ affair. The weekly classes kick off on Friday, September 20 with Karen Akunowicz of Myers + Chang; she'll lead "Behind the Line," a concept that transforms the BCAE into a full-service dining room, with students replicate the roles found in a working restaurant kitchen. (It sounds like a challenge straight out of a Food Network reality show.) After that, there's something for every taste: on Monday, September 23, chef Chris Frothingham of Vine Brook Tavern will lead "A Taste of the Tavern"; T.W. Food toque Tim Weichmann (pictured) will instruct "Bavarian Bites," inspired by the Central European fare of his new Somerville spot Bronwyn; Gabe Cheung of The Paramount spices things up on "Havana Night"; and Greg Jordan of Mare Oyster Bar teams up Notch Brewing for "Brew & Chew," a session spent making perfect pairings.
