Best Thing We Ate: Tuna Tartare at BoMA

By Scott Kearnan  |  January 7, 2014

30 Under 30 honoree Ryan Kelly has done a fine job raising the stakes at BoMA. The name is inspired by our city, of course, but also a Persian word that means "safe haven." But you can't take anything for granted in the competitive South End dining scene. So we've been glad to see Kelly bring the New American some flair - and frequently, Asian influences - honed through work in spots like Clio and Haru. Among our favorite dishes, one he describes as his "baby" - tuna tartare in a sesame soy marinade, served in a fried wonton cup on pickled veggies and accompanied by aji amarillo and avocado mousse. It might be his baby, but its slightly-sweet sophistication shows Kelly is also helping BoMA mature in the right direction (617-536-2662).
