Chef-Driven Free Hot Chocolate Warms Up Revere Hotel

The holidays have a tendency to put our wallets through the wringer. So as the days grow short and the nights cold, we're excited to know that Revere Hotel Boston Common has brought back Pop It Like It's Hot, a public, pop-up gourmet hot chocolate stand that will pour out tummy-warming cups (made using Boston's artisanal Taza, natch) for five Fridays beginning November 29 (3-6 PM). As with last year, the hot chocolate is free, though customers are encouraged to make a "pay-what-you-wish" donation to the Boston nonprofit The Home For Little Wanderers, an agency focusing on adoption, foster and residential services for young kids. New this year, though, is a chef-driven twist: besides the Revere's toque Bader Ali, the hotel has tapped three beloved Boston chefs to design their own batch of seasonal sips. On December 6 you'll find jm Curley chef Sam Monsour's Candy Cane Cream Pie-flavored hot chocolate; on December 13, Hell's Kitchen alum Jason Santos (Abby Lane, Blue Inc.) will offer Nutella with banana whipped cream; and on December 20, chef Brian Poe (Poe's Kitchen at the Rattlesnake, Tip Tap Room) brings out black lava salted caramel with maple candied pecans. Two words: hot stuff.
