Need a space to host your next farm-to-fork dinner party? Option one: a Brooklyn warehouse featured in an episode of Girls. Option two: the historic Anthony's Function building on Highland Avenue in Somerville, the new headquarters of locavore favorite Cuisine en Locale (CeL). CeL, the creation of personal chef and rock-and-roll culinary mastermind JJ Gonson, has become the Boston area's one-stop shop for all things locavore. We're particularly fond of their ONCE a Week meal CSA: its chefs deliver shareholders a variety of prepared meals made with local ingredients each week. Previously based out of shared space Kitchen Inc., CeL now has a permanent home at Anthony's for expanding its chef, catering and CSA work, plus hosting its famous ONCE (One Night Culinary Event) dinners. In fact, you can get familiar with the new location at its upcoming ONCE debut: Muertos III:, A Day of the Dead Fiesta on Saturday, November 2. ONCE tickets fly fast, so grab them now ($35-$50 here) for a night of farm-to-table "MassMex" cuisine, including Taza chocolate chicken mole, tomatillo Stillman pork verde, custom-made corn ice cream from Toscanini’s and more. There will also be beer tastings from Somerville's Slumbrew, cocktails from boutique bartending service Booze Époque, and music and performances from party band Mariachi Mexico Lindo and "SteamCrunk" act Walter Sickert & the Army of Broken Toys.
