Back Bay's Ostra Soft Opens

By Scott Kearnan | November 26, 2013 By Scott Kearnan  |  November 26, 2013

Ostra has quietly soft opened in the former home of Avila, but you'll need to be on an invite-only list to visit for dinner service tonight. The rest will still have to wait for the full open of the seafood-focused contemporary Mediterranean restaurant from chef-owner Jamie Mammano's Columbus Hospitality Group (Mistral, Sorellina, Teatro, and others). From some tidbits The Improper Bostonian collected, Ostra (Spanish for "oyster") seems like it's going to be a hit; not only are we excited for the food from executive chef Mitchell Randall, a Maine native, but the promise of a piano bar will also make Ostra one of the few area restaurants to host live music nightly (617-421-1200).
