Sam Monsour Wins "Guy's Grocery Games"

Congrats to jm Curley chef Sam Monsour, who won last night's episode of the new Food Network show Guy's Grocery Games. The Fieri-hosted "supermarket showdown" pits four chefs against each other as they tear through the aisles of a market, assemble ingredients and complete a series of cooking-challenge rounds for a chance to complete a final shopping spree for up to $20,000. You can watch Monsour take home the full jackpot here. And it's sure to come in handy for him; Monsour, who opened jm Curley in December 2011, recently announced he'll be leaving the restaurant at the end of the year. Next for him, he says: focusing on his Paleo diet and lifestyle app #true28 (he gave us the skinny on that); launching Hunger Apron, a company that will make aprons from recycled and sustainable materials; wrapping up a burger cookbook with Boston Burger Blog's Richard Chudy; and yes, opening his own restaurant, if all goes according to plan, in late 2014. Sounds like a lot, but as we learned last night, Monsour can make quick work of checking off a grocery list.
