Almost exactly one year after the Back Bay branch shuttered, the lights are about to go down at the final location of chef Frank McClelland's Sel de la Terre in Natick, Zagat has learned and confirmed with a rep. New Year's Eve will be the last hurrah for Sel de la Terre, which will close on January 1, 2014. (The Back Bay spot closed in late January of this year.) In a statement, McClelland's company New France LLC recalled a "wonderful 13 years" for the Sel de la Terre brand, which once had three locations: Back Bay, the Waterfront, and Natick. Don't worry: McClelland's consistently top-rated French L'Espalier isn't going anywhere, nor is his Au Soleil Catering or Apple Street Farm. In fact, he is "is currently developing new concepts" for the future. But in the meanwhile, said the statement, "he is eternally grateful to his talented team members and loyal guests for their continued support through the years, and is looking forward to celebrating one last holiday season with them all." To get your chance for one last meal at at Sel de la Terre, reserve here.
