Where to Eat Brunch This Weekend: Legal OysteriaBy Scott Kearnan | August 1, 2014 By Scott Kearnan | August 1, 2014
Okay, okay. Technically, the menu that Charlestown newcomer Legal Oysteria launches tomorrow is billed as a lunch menu. But frankly, it kind of feels like brunch to us. Why? One, it's available on weekends only: just Saturday and Sunday. Two, the hours run from 11 AM-4 PM, which is pretty much peak brunch time. And there are a couple plates with a breakfast-y bent: like Cannoli Pancakes ($7), ricotta filled crispelles with strawberries and maple syrup; caramelized onion frittata ($9), and sides of crispy bacon ($4). Of course, you'll also find dishes that fall more solidly on the lunch side of the equation. A few have been imported from the dinner menu, like the charred octopus ($10, pictured) that we showed off in our earlier First Look at Legal Oysteria. And lunch exclusives include a radicchio and escarole salad ($9) that can be topped with shrimp, swordfish, salmon or chicken; and a lobster roll with rosemary-parmesan potato chips. Check out the full lunch selection below, and stay tuned for another new menu coming soon: nightly "late night" (until 1 AM) noshes are on the way.
