Where to Eat Brunch This Weekend: Parla

By Scott Kearnan  |  July 18, 2014

If you enjoyed Baz Luhrmann's over-the-top blockbuster The Great Gatsby - based on the classic F. Scott Fitzgerald novel - last summer, you'll love this: Last weekend, Italian speakeasy-inspired Parla launched its Sunday Great Gatsby Brunch, and the results sound predictably awesome. The menu is divided into two sections. Head to the East Egg side for "timeless brunch items" like The American Dream (eggs with bacon, sausage and biscuit with gravy) and The Oxford Man (hanger steak with eggs and home fries). New money, meanwhile, might gravitate to the West Egg section, which features "brunch done ostentatiously." Opt here for items like Daisy's Pearls (blueberry- and mascarpone-filled donuts), Nutella- and banana-stuffed Green Light Crepes, and Gatsby's Grand Ball (tater tots stuffed with cheddar, bacon and quail egg, served with a hollandaise dipping sauce). Check out the full brunch menu below (including the inventive cocktail list, Meyer Wolfsheim's Liquid Offerings) and then (book)mark your weekend for Sunday from 11 AM to 3 PM. (230 Hanover St.; 617-367-2824)
