$10 Lunch: “Late Lunch” at Taco JointBy Sarah Freeman
April 15, 2014 By Sarah Freeman | April 15, 2014
It’s lunchtime, and that granola bar/apple/bag of chips combo is looking pretty pathetic. Upgrade to a quick and tasty meal that, at $10 or less, won't starve your wallet.
The art of the late lunch is not an easy one. It requires sneaking out of the office just as everyone returns and coming back just in time to throw in a few hours of work. If $10 tacos aren’t enough incentive for you to dip out for an “afternoon meeting,” we don’t know what is. Taco Joint offers a “late lunch” prix fixe from 1:30 to 4:30 PM on Mondays though Fridays. The deal includes a choice of two tacos, a side of rice and beans or guacamole with chips and salsa and either a margarita or can of Tecate. We vote for the barbacoa and carnita tacos with guacamole and a Tecate. There are nine taco options to choose from, including beer-marinated flank steak and grilled queso panela, so put your decision-making pants on. Usually, the meal sells for $12, but this week only, both location will be serving it for $10 if you mention Zagat. Is it taco time yet?
