A Basement Punch Bar Coming to PilsenBy Sarah Freeman

Gather some friends and get ready to party in Pilsen. Something boozy is happening in the basement of Thalia Hall (1227 W. 18th St.) that involves vintage bowls and antique teacups. Punch House is, as the name suggests, a punch bar located in the basement of the historic building.
Inspired by the 1970s, the bar taps into the hall’s original function of a meeting place and multipurpose public hall for arts exhibits and local gatherings. Punch will specialize in classic and contemporary large-format cocktails perfect for sharing.
The team behind Empty Bottle and Longman & Eagle bring us Punch House in an attempt to recapture the neighborhood spirit beneath the old community center. The bar is scheduled to open on September 17, in the meantime, check out the teaser video.
