Hey bartender, make us something delicious. Welcome to Dealer’s Choice, where Chicago mixologists share their favorite cocktails so you know exactly what to order the next time you belly up to their bar.
Within its first few months, Lone Wolf has quickly become a popular watering hole for the West Loop pre- and post-dinner crowds. Beverage director and general manager Stephen Cole is well aware of this fact and created a cocktail to complement it. The Girolamo Sour is an aperitif and digestif all in one, according to Cole. It combines Luxardo Amaro Abano, Lubardo bitters, lemon juice, simple syrup and egg white in a creamy cocktail with a hint of bitterness. “The cocktail has changing layers of flavor, which I love to find in a cocktail no matter how weird it is,” Cole said. “It's complex yet balanced with acidity, bitterness and sweet. It's also very basic with minimal ingredients.”
