Way to go Chicago, you ate 63,000-square-feet of food in less than seven days. If that’s not an accomplishment, we don’t know what is. Eataly posted on its Facebook that the Italian superstore will be closed today to restock after its monstrous opening week. According to the post, more than 120,000 people visited the new location, more than 80,000 people dined at one of the restaurants and more than 30,000 Chicagoans bought food to eat at home. "Never, ever has another Eataly been as successful as our new outpost in Chicago,” the post said. In order to maintain its commitment to quality, re-stock the cheese wheels and maybe let the employees take a nap, the store is closed until 8 AM tomorrow.
