Standard Market Opens City LocationBy Sarah Freeman | August 13, 2013 By Sarah Freeman | August 13, 2013
Visiting gourmet superstore Standard Market may be a bit out of the way for us city-dwellers. But tomorrow, Lincoln Park will get a taste of the Westmont grocer when Standard Market Grill opens. The fast-casual eatery sources ingredients from the market and prepares them in a contemporary setting with white oak planking, polished concrete floors and dark metal accents.
Serving lunch, dinner and Sunday brunch, the sleek new restaurant will offer a selection of American fare such as a steakhouse burger, hand-tossed pizzas, salads, sandwiches and daily soup. A full bar will serve 16 local craft brews on draft, Standard Market's Pioneer cabernet, cocktails as well as fruit-infused water. Stumptown roasts the coffee, and tea is from local Kilogram Tea.
Standard Market Grill is will offer dine-in as well as take out service. The 5,000-sq.-ft. space will bring a fresh batch of local flavor to the north side.
