Take a trip down the Pappy Van Winkle wormhole at NoMI. Your tour guide for the evening is beverage director Kevin Beary, who will lead guests through tastings of the prized bourbon. Each pour will be paired with a culinary course created by chef de cuisine Sean Pharr. The evening begins at 7:30 and costs $150 (312-239-4030).
In anticipation of the new Saks Fifth Avenue Men’s Store, The Fifth Man, opening in January, an eggnog-slinging truck will be making its way up and down Michigan Avenue with complimentary hot beverages for holiday shoppers. Bone marrow, black truffles and lots of bubbles are on the menu at Vie. Chef Paul Virant and his team are pulling out all the stops for a decadent five-course meal paired with a number of Champagne varietals. The meal will take diners through the five sub-regions of Champagne, just in time for picking out that bottle of New Year’s Eve bubbly. Dinner begins at 6 PM and costs $125 (708-246-2082).
