Fall's emblematic beverage, apple cider, is not only the perfect drink to pair with your donuts, it's also being shaken, stirred and blended up by bartenders everywhere. In fact, the apple-based drink is trending as an ingredient in hundreds of libations around the U.S. Check out eight of our favorites below.

  • Alien Comic, Pearl & Ash, NYC
At this NYC hotspot on the Bowery, bartender Eben Klemm uses JK's Scrumpy Hard Cider to concoct his take on the sour apple martini. He shakes up a housemade crabapple syrup, Dolin Blanc vermouth, Lustau Palo Cortado sherry and fresh lemon juice and pours it over ice. The cocktail is then topped with more JK's Scrumpy Hard Cider just before serving.

  • Calville Blanc au FeuEla, Philadelphia, PA

For a fancy take on the trend, sparkling apple cider is a must-have cocktail ingredient for fall. At Philly's Ela, they combine Calvados, Benedictine, honey and Etienne Dupont Cidre Bouche to make the Calville Blanc au Feu, garnished with lemon peel. Merci beaucoup!

  • Sailor Cider, Lucy Restaurant & Bar, Yountville, CA

At Lucy in the Bardessono Hotel and Spa in Yountville, where they typically serve Californian cuisine, bartender Shead Guinn is mixing up a cider-based tipple to complement the autumn season. To make it, they combine rum, Tuaca, hot apple cider and top it with amaretto whipped cream.

  • Jou Jou at Willie Jane, Los Angeles, CA

Head bartender Derrick Bass mixes up the cocktails at Willie Jane in Venice, the Southern-inspired California eatery from chef Govind Armstrong and restaurateur Brad Johnson. The Jou Jou is a twist on a pumpkin spice cocktail that mixes Laird’s AppleJack, apple-cider liqueur, and a pumpkin-apple cider-tarragon shrub in a glass with a cinnamon sugar rim.

  • Manhattan Chapman, Rappahannock, Richmond, VA

This seasonal eatery from chef Chef Dylan Fultineer highlights local ingredients in its menu, and for fall, cider in its cocktails. Try the Manhattan Chapman, made with Buffalo Trace bourbon, Cocchi Vermouth di Torino, baked apple bitters and Foggy Ridge Cider.

  • 5 Apples, Yardbird Southern Table & Bar, Miami, FL

This SoBe temple to all things Southern has a cider-based cocktail on the menu for fall. The 5 Apples is made with Double Apple bourbon, Laird’s AppleJack, Berentzen Apple Schnapps, fresh lemon and fresh apple cider.

  • Ciderhouse Rules, Summit at The Broadmoor in Colorado Springs, CO

Located in an Adam Tihany-designed space, Summit Restaurant has gained accolades for its approachable American fare. On offer this fall is the aptly named Ciderhouse Rules - made with spiced rum, Cherry Heering, fresh lemon juice and topped with Angry Orchard cider and a cherry garnish.

  • Irish Cider, Marble Lounge at Dream Downtown, NYC

At this swanky downtown boite, you can enjoy this cider-infused cocktail year-round. An Irish twist is added to the typical spiked fall beverage in The Irish Cider, made with Jameson Irish whiskey, Blackwell’s rum, apple cider, lemon juice and agave.
