Sneak Peek: Henry’s Majestic
Last night we attended a party at upcoming Uptown gastropub Henry’s Majestic, opening next month. General manager Roe DiLeo is a contestant on this season’s Hell’s Kitchen, which debuted yesterday. As the crowd cheered her every appearance on screen, we explored the former Acme Social Club space.
A bespoke, etched-tile ceiling (above) gives the place a Prohibition-era feel, and Edison lightbulbs and retro wallpaper add to that ambiance. The patio (below) is sure to be a popular spot, with wood tables, strings of lights and a pool table in the corner. A wooden-slat roof, metal chairs and brick walls and pillars make the space feel urban and modern.
Our favorite touch, actually, is the big neon Majestic sign in a corner of the patio (pictured at top) — a tavern lighthouse of sorts, welcoming diners and drinkers for casual bar fare. In addition to the charcuterie program we mentioned earlier, expect scratch-made fare with a bistro bent, including rotisserie chicken, maple-bourbon meatballs, oysters, an entrée called Texas Pho and a bone-marrow-glazed Akaushi beef burger.
