Beer Me Monday: Peticolas Velvet Hammer

By Farah Fleurima | February 3, 2014 By Farah Fleurima  |  February 3, 2014

Peticolas Velvet Hammer is an Imperial Red Ale that’s one of Dallas’ most popular. Its warming ways and its brown sugar-flecked charms have won many devotees among local craft beer enthusiasts.

Tasting Notes: Malty, with warm caramel elements and a hint of hops. You will get a slight alcohol kick, with its 9 percent ABV, but its moderate bitterness level (85 IBU) means it won’t bite you. Tons of body to stand up to spicy and rich foods.
Where to Drink It: Holy Grail Pub, Goodfriend Beer Garden & Burger House, Craft and Growler
Best Enjoyed When: You want a rich, creamy beer to warm you up … and get you buzzing after a couple pints. Perfect for after-work quaffing.
