Nutritionists and calorie counters might disagree, but we say fried chicken and salad can be besties, and the evidence is at Hattie’s. The lunch menu is one of the Bishop Arts restaurant’s specialties and features a bed of greens, hard-cooked eggs, avocado, tomato, bacon and just enough creamy buttermilk dressing to make things interesting but not overwhelm the crisp, succulent chicken strips on top of everything. All in all, this hearty, tantalizing lunch was light and refreshing but didn’t scream “sad salad,” thanks to the chicken planks.
