Best Thing We Ate: Sausage Slice at Zoli's NY PizzaBy Farah Fleurima | November 14, 2013 By Farah Fleurima | November 14, 2013
While many pizza joints in Dallas will attest to their pie being NYC style, Zoli's NY Pizza owner Jay Jerrier can lay a pretty good claim, based off of what he accomplished at this new Oak Cliff restaurant's Neapolitan predecessor, Cane Rosso. In other words, we trust the guy to know his pie. Zoli's bakes up three types: the thin-crust NY Style, the delightfully doughy Sicilian and the in-betweener simply called Grandma. We loved the pleasantly crisp yet satisfyingly saucy and cheesy NY Style, dotted with piquant sausage crumbles, though the Grandma was a close second - soft, fluffy, crisp and gooey all at the same time. Don't miss the Diavoletti - fried strips of pizza dough tossed in Nutella and sea salt caramel. It's very much worth saving stomach space.
