Johnnie Walker Tasting at Abacus
Tonight, Abacus is hosting brand ambassadors from Johnnie Walker to talk about and serve up samples of Johnnie Walker Gold Label Reserve whiskey. From 6 to 9, you can sip on complimentary cocktails and nosh on bar bites including smoked whitefish brandade on pumpernickel and Point Reyes blue cheese-Scotch deviled eggs.
Deep Ellum Brewing Co. dinner at Cook Hall
The Victory Park restaurant inside the W Hotel is pairing the craft brewery’s best beers with eats, such as mussels mariniere with the Dallas Blonde and burnt honey custard with the Double Brown Stout. The five-course meal’s price includes complimentary valet service at the entrance of the W ($55 per person; 214-397-4111).
Feast of the Seven Fishes at the Italian Club
This traditional Christmastime feast is tough to find here, so if you can’t afford the price tag at chef John Tesar’s version at Spoon, you will love this meal put on by the Italian Club of Dallas. All manner of treasures of the sea are represented, including pasta with mussels, clams with oregano and breadcrumbs and baked cod with capers. Here’s hoping there’s wine aplenty to accompany these classics ($36.40 for Italian Club members, $46.92 for non-members).
