Buffets and Prix Fixes

The Broadmoor
Why She’ll Love It:
Lake views, ice sculptures and live music will enhance the legendary Colorado Springs resort's banquet of a brunch, displaying some 150 selections on the Lake Terrace (9 AM-3 PM; $60 per person 11 and up, $21 per child ages four-10, free for children under three).
Must-Try Dish: It's hard for us to tear ourselves away from a seafood station with oysters galore. 1 Lake Ave., Colorado Springs; 719-623-5112

Central Bistro & Bar
Why She’ll Love It:
It’s rare that a hot spot is also kid-friendly, but Central wears both hats well. Today it’s hosting an all-you-can-eat buffet complete with bottomless “momosas” (10 AM-4 PM; $35 per adult, $10 per child 12 and under).
Must-Try Dish: Chef Matt Selby hasn’t released the menu yet, but cross your fingers for his signature chilaquiles. 1691 Central St.; 303-477-4582

Why She’ll Love It:
Bradford Heap’s Niwot retreat has a charming garden patio on which to linger over a three-course prix fixe brunch (10 AM-3 PM; $45 per person) - or over dinner, for that matter, when the kitchen will be offering a couple of à la carte specials (5 PM-9 PM).
Must-Try Dish: While the daytime menu’s still under wraps, lobster risotto is a luxurious bet for the evening. 210 Franklin St.,
Niwot; 303-652-0777

Why She’ll Love It:
Tom Coohill’s urbane LoDo eatery has got quite the spread planner for its brunch buffet, complete with raw bar, prime-rib carving station and a double-pour Bloody Mary bar if Mom’s really ready to let her hair down (10 AM-2 PM; $45 per adult, $15 per child ages six-12, free for children five and under).
Must-Try Dish: Wrap your head around the concept of Wagyu-tallow biscuits with Berkshire pork-belly gravy. 1400 Wewatta St.;

EDGE Restaurant and Bar
Why She’ll Love It:
Though the Four Seasons’ signature eatery is first and foremost a steakhouse, chef Meredith Manee favors the light approach. Her three-course menu is a toast to spring as well as to mom (10 AM-3 PM; $57 per adult, $25 per child ages 12 and under).
Must-Try Dish: We recently tried both the seared diver scallops over lemon risotto and the strawberry-rhubarb tart (pictured) and they're scrumptious. 1111 14th St.; 303-389-3343

Flagstaff House
Why She’ll Love It: The Boulder institution is a bastion of elegance - complete with sparkling views (11 AM-3 PM; $55 per adult, $18 per child).

Hotel Boulderado
Why She’ll Love It:
A historic setting, live music, a free glass of bubbly and a fancy brunch buffet on the mezzanine - what’s not to love? (10 AM-3 PM; $60 per adult, $25 per child ages four-10, free for children three and under)
Must-Try Dish: Two words: chocolate fountain. 2115 13th St.; 303-442-4344

Why She’ll Love It:
Elise Wiggins, the chef at the Hotel Monaco’s Italian fixture Downtown, is centering her buffet brunch around a patio pig roast (8 AM-2:30 PM; $35 per adult, $17 per child ages 12 and under).
Must-Try Dish: Revel in the comfort of the meatball-pasta casserole called pastiche. 909 17th St.; 303-296-3525

The Ritz-Carlton, Denver
Why She’ll Love It:
Not only is the Downtown hotel holding its elaborate brunch buffet in the ballroom, it’s setting up a fresh-flower station so you can build a bouquet just for her, while a photographer makes the rounds for take-home family portraits (10 AM-3 PM; $75 per adult, $35 per child).
Must-Try Dish: You name it: from sushi, salad and cheese displays to carved-meat, omelet and dessert stations, the choices are near-endless. 1881 Curtis St.; 303-312-3133

Second Home Kitchen + Bar
Why She’ll Love It: Choices, choices. If mom wants to wear pajamas to brunch and drink bottomless mimosas over the regular brunch menu (served 6:30 AM-2 PM) while a pancake bar keeps the kids occupied, she’s got it. But this contemporary Cherry Creek favorite will also be hosting a fireside buffet with charcuterie displays, a waffle station and more (10 AM-2 PM; $48 per adult, $15 per child ages six-12, free for children under five).
Must-Try Dish: Either the bag of donuts with dipping sauces, the meatloaf with beer cheddar and chipotle ketchup - or both. 150 Clayton Ln.;

Why She’ll Love It:
If she’s got an adventurous palate, Troy Guard’s globally inspired Larimer Square flagship has got her covered with a three-course prix fixe that ranges from smoked-chicken chilaquiles to a lilikoi-orange tart (10 AM-3 PM; $40 per adult, $15 per child).
Must-Try Dish: The taco sushi is a signature for a reason. 1441 Larimer St.; 303-996-9985

Why She'll Love It: Royce Oliveira and Leanne Adamson's superb City Park newcomer is opening up specially for a three-course holiday brunch of grilled octopus with melon, veal schnitzel over latkes in lump-crab béarnaise and chocolate-stout cake with apricots, as well as bottomless mimosas ($36 per person); the kids can opt for waffles. 3333 E. Colfax Ave.; 303-316-3333

Why She’ll Love It: While Richard Sandoval’s Latin-Asian longtimer always offers its all-you-can-eat brunch of small plates and cocktails, today’s it’s sweetening the already-good deal with a split of bubbly and a chrysanthemum for the moms in the crowd (10:30 AM-2:30 PM; $35 per adult; $10 per child).
Must-Try Dish: Get more than one pandan waffle with strawberry-guava sauce - you (and she) won’t want to share. 1610 Little Raven St.; 720-904-0965
