Gina and Pat Neely Close Memphis RestaurantsBy Kelly Dobkin | July 3, 2013 By Kelly Dobkin | July 3, 2013
Gina and Pat Neely of Food Network show, Down Home With the Neelys, announced on their Facebook page on Monday that their two Memphis restaurants were closing "indefinitely" as well as a kiosk at the Fedex Forum. The pair noted a desire to renovate and regroup as they are not around enough to keep the restaurants in good shape. Meanwhile their NYC restaurant is still up and running.
They also commented on the Paula Deen racism scandal to ET Online, saying: "We were shocked and saddened to learn of the comments from Paula Deen. Racism of any kind from anyone is simply unacceptable and cannot be tolerated. In our own relationship, Paula has shown us kindness and generosity. We trust that Paula's apologies are sincere and hope there is a positive lesson to be learned from this situation." [FNG/Facebook/Grub Street]
