$15 Weekend Brunch: Eatsie Boys CafeBy Amber Ambrose | January 3, 2014 By Amber Ambrose | January 3, 2014
It's time for brunch, but you're out of money from all that crazy holiday spending. Thankfully Eatsie Boys Cafe takes it easy on the bank account. Expect laid-back counter service, a few chalkboard specials on Sundays starting at 9 AM (a recent selection included a decadent, fluffy butternut squash strata) and plenty of fun options like the pictured Eggman Sammy ($7) made with chicken poblano sausage, a runny fried egg and cheddar on a challah bun. We could go on and on about their version of egg in the hole ($8) served with tomato Provençal or the dishes carried over from their days as a popular food truck - Frank the Pretzel ($7) for the win - but we'd be here all day. Saving you even more money is their BYO policy. We'll bring the OJ if you bring the bubbly.
Healthy options: If you've overindulged this season - and who hasn't - there are also some of the best salads in Houston on their menu. Try the crispy kale salad with a side of their matzo ball pho for something lighter and ringing up at $15 exactly.
