The light at the end of the work tunnel: We've got a trio of happy hour deals for your drinking (and dining) pleasure.
1. The inviting Café Brasil draws an range of customers from WiFi-seeking college students to suit-clad businessmen. Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, the happy hour menu adds another reason to head to the laid-back Montrose locale. You get a buck off draught beer and keg wine, and a deal on food, including $6 catfish sliders, $7 shrimp and grits and $4 fried okra (Weekdays; 3-7 PM).
2. Once the childhood home of Howard Hughes, AvantGarden is big on character. The small first floor has a sizeable backyard patio, and the upstairs offers additional seating (and doubles as theater or meeting space for 50). Happy hour at the Montrose bar includes live piano music, $3 mixed drinks, $2 domestic drafts, $4 sangria, $15 select bottles of wine and bites from the Taqueria El Palomo food truck outside (Weekdays; 6-8 PM).
3. A farm-to-table concept, Tanglewood's Dish Society offers deal on drinks ($3-$5) and small plates ($5 each). Our picks includes the four cheese truffle mac, toasted ciabatta topped with strawberries and goat cheese, and white apple sangria (Weekdays; 3:30-6:30 PM).
