Spaghetti-shaped gelato topped with fruit "pomodoro" sauce? Oh, it's like a thing (if you're hip to German ice cream trends.) Today we learn of a new confection hitting NYC's Dolce Gelateria that recreates popular German treat Spaghettieis. The dish combines artisanal vanilla gelato strained through a pasta maker (to resemble spaghetti noodles) and topped with housemade strawberry compote to resemble a plate of spaghetti pomodoro. Want a side of meatballs? Add two scoops of chocolate gelato and you've got yourself a highly bizarre yet delicious dessert.

Is spaghetti-shaped gelato the next Cronut? We're not so sure, but here's 10 other hybrid foods you might want to scope out while you ponder it.
