5 Things to Do Before Summer's Over

Day after day of glorious sunshine has given Londoners almost nothing to complain about all month. Here are five more reasons to get excited about summer - make sure to do all of them before September rolls around.

  • What: Hands On by Chef's Playground
    Why: Chef Eran Tibi of Ottolenghi presents this two-day pop up dining experience where cutlery is off the menu. Five courses of Middle Eastern-inspired food will be served for guests to 'lick and sip,' 'look and dip,' 'crunch,' or 'grab and nibble.'
    When: August 9 & 10; from 7 PM.

  • What: Tutti Fruitti at Kew
    Why: As part of Kew Gardens's summer festival IncrEdibles, architectural foodsmiths Bompas & Parr have turned the Palm House pond into a giant fruit salad boating lake complete with a pineapple island and a banana grotto.

  • What: Feast at Battersea Park
    Why: Take part in this outdoor picnic extravaganza with the U.K.'s largest selection of pop-up restaurants, street food vendors, artisanal producers and BBQ tents serving food and drinks as well as offering master classes and hourly tastings.

  • What: The Real Street Food Festival
    Why: Global food carts gather at the Southbank centre for three days giving adventurous foodies the chance for some multicultural munching.
