Chef Brad McDonald Takes Over at The LockhartBy Miranda York

The Lockhart, a Southern U.S. restaurant on Seymour Place in Marylebone, has been flying below the radar. Not any more: American chef Brad McDonald has taken the helm and relaunched the menu with regional ‘Deep South’ dishes from states such as Alabama, Georgia, Louisiana, South Carolina and Brad’s home state, Mississippi. It’s not all fried chicken and BBQ, though. À la carte options include smoked mallard gumbo, shrimp boil, chicken liver and onions, and venison saddle with red-eye gravy. We’ll be heading there for lunch to sample the classic shrimp and grits (for which South Carolinian grits have been shipped from Anson Mills). Look out for the Sunday brunch menu launching in February - we’re hoping for chicken-fried steak and Southern-style biscuits.
The Lockhart has a special relaunch offer from now until January 18 with 30% off food for lunch and dinner.
