6 Great Patios to Drink With Your Dog Around LABy Lesley Balla | April 24, 2014 By Lesley Balla | April 24, 2014
New York might have the first cat cafe but we'll take beers with the bow-wows any day. With patio season in full swing (especially today), we think it's a good time to get out for a leisurely afternoon with your best friend. No, your other best friend. Here are three great patios where pooches are as welcome as you.
Golden Road Brewing: With the expansive patio (faux grass and all) at the Atwater Village brewery and pub, you're child-dog has its own place to sit and relax. There are bowls for water on the Doggy Deck and umbrellas to shade both of you.
Ray's and Stark Bar: No, seriously. You can bring your furry friends to the museum grounds any time and as long as they're well-behaved (and leashed), then can sit on the Stark Bar patio while you sip a glass of wine or cocktail.
Beer Belly: The new outdoor area at the Koreatown pub is perfect for the poochies, just grab a beer and some duck-fat French fries and head outside.
Angel City Brewing: You'll find dogs of all sizes inside the massive brewery complex in the Arts District downtown. Just keep them at a table and not near the service bar and you're fine for drinking any of the beers on tap.
Atwater Village Tavern: There are carne asada fries, amazing drink specials just about every day of the week and good beer. The patio is very pet-friendly, a boon to this very dog-centric residential district.
Venice Ale House: With a big patio on the Venice Boardwalk, VAH is a great spot to stop with Boxer while you dig into some bar-friendly grub like quesadillas, nachos and burgers. You will sip on craft local brews and they can rehydrate at the communal dog water bowls. Note: it's crazy crowded on the Boardwalk during summer weekends.
