BBQ and Laughs at Roadhouse L.A. Next WeekBy Lesley Balla | January 29, 2014 By Lesley Balla | January 29, 2014
The barbecue concept from NYC chef Robbie Richter (Hill Country, Fatty Cue) and Adam Fleischman (Umami) will finally debut as the in-house restaurant at the Hollywood Improv next week. The Roadhouse LA menu will feature globally inspired wood-smoked meats and sides in the showroom, but the restaurant is also open to the general public – whether you're there for a show or not. Some dishes to expect include Punjabi poutine with goat gravy, jerk chicken with black-eyed peas, and "head of the day" with Texas toast. To whet your whistle, barman Dave Fernie (Pour Vous, Harvard & Stone) shook up the cocktail menu with a large whiskey selection, house-made sodas and new drinks.
Roadhouse officially debuts on Thursday, February 6, but – as with many Umami restaurants – it will probably have a soft opening earlier in the week. Call before you head in (8162 Melrose Ave.; 323-651-2583).
