New restaurants open while others shutter, such is the cycle of dining life in LA. Here are top news makers from the week:

Open: The Peruvian stalwart Los Balcones has a new look and menu in Hollywood, now serving tiraditos, ceviches, pisco cocktails and more. Read about the changes here.

Open: Sugarfina, the chic little Beverly Hills candy shop where Champagne and peach bellini gummies rule, has opened a pop-up inside the new Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts in BevHills. Get your pretty turqoise-blue bento boxes filled with candies 60 minutes prior and 30 minutes following performances.

Closed: The Doughroom in Palms will close on Sunday, March 2, for a retooling. Owner Kaveh Karimi will be switching out the beer-centri rustic Italian concept for something esle. [Eater]

Chef Changes: The global bbq joint Roadhouse LA has only been open for a few weeks, but opener Robbie Richter is out and new chef Kyle Schutte is in. Reps say Schutte, who was last at The Corner Door, will keep a lot of the dishes already popular on the menu, including the whole animal heads, but he'll add his own creations over the next few weeks.
