Go Inside Honeycut, DTLA's Hottest New Bar

By Lesley Balla | October 18, 2013 By Lesley Balla  |  October 18, 2013

There are nightclubs in Downtown LA and there are cocktail bars. But until Honeycut opened - they made it official this week after a couple of weeks of previews - the two didn't really exist together. From Cedd Moses and the 213 Nightlife group, which own a lot of Downtown's popular spots like Seven Grand, The Varnish and Cana Rum Bar, and Proprietors LLC's Dave Kaplan and Alex Day (NYC's Death & Company), it's a mash-up of great proportions.

Tucked behind the O Hotel (where Kaplan and Day have consulted on cocktails for Bar + Kitchen), it's two spaces in one - a cocktail and piano bar with billiards and a relaxed vibe, and a disco complete with a brightly-lit colorful dance floor - both serving classic and creative hand-crafted drinks, artisanal spirits, lots of bottled things and quaffs on tap. If your weekend plans aren't set yet, here's a pictorial of what you'll find down the alley.

  • The entrance is down the alley parallel to Flower Street, accessible from 8th or 9th streets.

If you didn't see us, you weren't on the dancefloor...
