Hump Day Happy Hour: The WallaceBy Lesley Balla | July 9, 2014 By Lesley Balla | July 9, 2014
Sometimes the best happy hours show up in the most unlikely of places, especially at restaurants known more for busy brunches and dinners than cocktails. But The Wallace, the seasonally inspired spot in Culver City, has beverage director Greg Bryson on its side. He mixes up new boozy concoctions every few months, and offers them at a discount for its 'social hour'. Right now you'll find things like Afternoon Delight (pictured), a fruity rum and passionfruit drink; the American Aperol, with gin, Aperol and summer strawberries and cucumbers in the glass; and the Mile High Club, made with vodka, chamomile syrup, grapefruit and soda. Each of these are only $7 during happy hour, along with bites like roasted artichoke and crab dip with homemade vegetable chips, merquez sliders, and chicken liver mousse with fresh-baked ciabatta for $10 and under. Social hour deals run 4-6 PM, Monday through Friday.
