Less Than One Year In, Sirena Closes on Beverly

It's too bad Sirena couldn't make a go of it. Taking over the long-lived Pane e Vino space, and even reviving one of the more beautiful patio hideaways in town, the restaurant from Sandy Gendel (Pace), Peter Garland (Porta Via) and Michael Sutton, which only opened in January, is now closed. The space was completely overhauled, the menu was Mediterranean-focused and the pedigree of the owners and opening kitchen team (Jeremy Strubel from Rustic Canyon among them) seemed like a good combination. Apparently, not so. The Sirena website is nothing more than a "Closed, Thank You For Your Patronage" sign. Pace and Porta Via will probably continue on with their regular success, i.e. always packed, and someone will scoop up this space soon. [Eater]
