What happens when you put the Top Chef-winning, heavily inked, very celebrated chef Michael Voltaggio (ink. and ink.sack) into the equally envelope-pushing kitchen at Umami Burger? This. Following on the heels of singer Mayer Hawthorne and rocker-inspired Slash burgers, Voltaggio created a signature Monte Cristo burger for the chain, which will be unleashed nationwide on Tuesday, January 28. The combo - Umami's signature beef patty smothered in gruyere fondue and prosciutto, tucked into a custard-soaked bun and topped with powdered sugar and syrup - sounds like the ultimate salty-sweet stoner treat. One dollar from the sale of each burger goes to the Los Angeles Mission. We'll always support stuffing your face for a good cause.
