Quenelle Brings Gelato, Bonbons and More to BurbankBy Lesley Balla

To some people, the corner around Magnolia and Buena Vista in Burbank might be a random spot for a dessert-only shop. But Handy Market's weekend BBQ, warm crullers from one of our favorite donut shops and craft beer at Tony's Darts Away, all of which are nearby, keep the neighborhood and the occasional visitor pretty happy. John Park thinks it's a good spot: the former Lukshon pastry chef opens Quenelle today, serving artisanal ice creams, gelato, bonbons, ice cream sandwiches, fruit pops, baked goods and more.
Park recently left Sang Yoon's restaurants (Father's Office, too), and before that worked in the kitchens at Providence, XIV and Water Grill, to name a few. We've had nothing but amazing desserts wherever he's worked, so the pedigree's there. Quenelle is just a counter really, no tables, but you can still pop in for things like blueberry pie ice cream, drumsticks, cookies, bacon-cheddar scones and even donuts (watch out, Doughnut Hut!). Maybe even after a Handy tri-tip sandwich or a pint at Tony's. Hours are 11 AM-9 PM Sunday-Thursday, and until 10 PM on the weekends. [UrbanDaddy]
